Calvary Chapel Aiken (CCA) is a 30-year young church with a strong, loving foundation of believers that is undergoing radical change with the transition to a new senior pastor. We have made investments in sound equipment, technology, and outreach equipment and are further strengthening CC Aiken by building a church reflecting the Acts 2 church with a relentless focus on glorifying Christ and proclaiming the gospel in Aiken, the surrounding areas, and across the globe.

About the Position:

The primary responsibilities of the part-time worship leader will be to lead thoroughly blended worship services, and grow the music ministry at CC Aiken. This person is directly accountable to the Senior Pastor. The candidate will possess an adaptable skill set and leadership capabilities, which will enable the worship ministry to grow with us as we add services, develop special worship events on campus and in our community, and intentionally look to grow the next generation of worship team members and leaders.




  • Has a sincere, mature faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with a strong sense of calling and identity in Christ. A clear desire (with demonstrable experience preferred) to disciple those in his/her sphere of influence and to facilitate a discipleship environment among the worship team members.

  • Is self-motivated to provide leadership, vision, and passion for CC Aiken in the area of music worship ministries that is in-line with the overall vision, purpose, and mission of our church. Lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities, which align with the mission and vision of CC Aiken.

  • Coordinate with the Senior Pastor to create and lead well-planned, engaging weekly, mid-week, and prayer services including planning and service production. This includes leading worship services, along with recruiting, scheduling, and developing a worship team (including musicians, vocalists, sound board operators, and other service production personnel). Responsibilities include preparation for and leading rehearsals, as well as consulting with the Senior Pastor to coordinate the music consistent with the leading of the Holy Spirit.

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and leading worship for special events.

  • Proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability with the capability to lead with a guitar and/or keyboard.

  • The Worship Leader must take responsibility for the worship related technologies of the church (e.g., sound board, boxes, mics, speakers, etc).

  • Develop and administer and annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.

  • The Worship Leader must be a faithful reader of the Bible and other allied books that will deepen his/her theological and relational understanding of God.

  • Attend a weekly (or as otherwise designated) staff meeting with the Senior Pastor, and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church.

  • The worship leader is responsible to field and resolve worship team conflicts and bring Godly instruction to worship team members with grace and truth.

  • The worship leader should be able to instruct worship team members in music theory (preferred).

  • The worship leader must be able to work collaboratively with the video/projector team leader for an effective in-sanctuary and on-line service experience.

  • The Worship Leader must sign a document stating they are in full agreement with CC Aiken’s Statement of Faith and Calvary Chapel Distinctives.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

A little bit about Aiken, South Carolina 


Aiken, South Carolina 

Population > 30,000

Aiken is the County seat with the county having about 180,000. Located 30 minutes from Augusta, Georgia and within 40 minutes of Columbia, South Carolina and Lexington, South Carolina. Aiken is within an hour of the mountains and a couple of hours of the ocean. Horses (racing, riding, etc.), golf, and outdoor activities are common in the community and there are many other hobbies and interests in the area.


The employment market is robust and expanding. The Savanah River Nuclear Site is a major employer and has recently announced another employment expansion. The housing market is a little tight as there is more demand than supply with many new people moving into the area. The downtown area is picturesque with some nice local shops, restaurants, and a live theater. There are numerous parks for play, exercise, and family time.
