Community Bible Greenwood is known for a meaningful Sunday morning experience, friendly people, a strong emphasis on reaching the next generation, and a deep commitment to the Greenwood community. You can find us all over the community serving our schools, city officials, first responders, and at many City of Greenwood events.

About the Position:
 

The Next Generation Pastor will oversee all our programming and ministries for birth-12th grade students. They will plan and execute all the programming aspects of those ministries, develop a campus ministry plan for our schools, develop strategies for equipping parents, and be the primary communicator for large group gatherings in the Next Gen Ministries. They will also recruit and train volunteers for their area, plan large events/outreach events, and will preach 4-6 times per year in our main service(s).

General Duties:

  • Implement the existing vision for Community Children’s Ministry (birth through 6th grade) with an intentional plan to carry it out.

  • Create a mission, vision, and strategy for Community Student Ministry (7th through 12th grade) with an intentional plan to carry it out.

  • Lead programs/events according to the vision and purpose of the church, including Champ Camp, Student Camps, campus ministries, and community events.

  • Serve as the primary communicator for children’s and student ministry activities, events, and worship services.

  • Plan and execute an amazing Sunday morning experience for kids, including high energy worship, effective teaching plan, and thorough follow up strategy.

  • Involve kids and students in the ministries of the church, supporting and participating in the church’s vision, worship services, and activities.

  • Recruit, train, and lead the children’s and student ministry volunteer teams.

  • Develop and execute on a ministry and outreach plan for our schools.

  • Collaborate with church staff to develop the annual Next Gen budget for children’s and

    student ministry.

  • Build and maintain relationships with parents and families both churched and unchurched.

  • Attend regular church staff meetings including Children’s Ministry meetings.

  • Maintain consistent communication with Campus Pastor.

  • Work effectively in a team environment.

  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

This skill will likely be most experienced in relationships and will be an important part of ministry success.

  • Communication, Written - Ability to write concise, clear letters, reports, articles, or e-mails, including proofing and editing.

  • Communicating for Impact - Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations, including preaching and teaching environments.

  • Emotional Intelligence – Knowledge of emotional intelligence theories and concepts and the ability to perceive, assess and help manage the emotions of self and others while simultaneously exhibiting resiliency, drive, and commitment to results.

Education & Experience:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Christian Studies, Theology, Student/Children’s Ministry, or a like field. An advanced/seminary degree is not required but preferred.

  • Three to five years’ experience in a full-time capacity in a Student, Children’s, or Next Generation Ministry.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Greenwood is known for its school system and high school sports, specifically football.
