About the Church:
 

Located in Ponte Vedra Beach, outside of Jacksonville FL, Crosswater is a restart that has grown from 70 to 1400 before Covid 19. We are a purpose driven church. We are a community church that participates with Southern Baptist mission work. Our mission is to "lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ." We do that by helping people get "connected to God, connected to people and connected to ministry." Our two Sunday morning services are contemporary and casual. We have a worship band and a praise team. We are in a brand new Worship Center with state of the art sound and lighting.

About the Position:
 

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Youth (middle school and high school) ministries. This includes overseeing the design and execution of programming for Sunday morning and Wednesday night group environments for middle school and high school, as well as recruiting, assimilation, and training of volunteers to support youth ministry environments. This role will also support other NextGen ministry areas as needed, not limited to but including administration, trips and events, and database management to ensure the overall success of NextGen ministry.  All duties shall be performed to meet the mission, vision, beliefs and values of Crosswater Community Church.

As such, we expect all employees to have meaningful participation and engagement as members of CCC, abide by our staff culture, and actively live out faith (both in work and outside of work) in a way that reflects the love and character of Jesus Christ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 

  • Effectively lead Sunday morning and Wednesday night programs for youth through detailed planning, organization and execution. This includes administration, hospitality/connections, volunteers, and large group and small group experiences.

  • Successfully implement curriculum and content to help create a Youth environment with robust attendance and engagement, effective assimilation of new kids/students, high volunteer retention, and growth in personal discipleship among attendees.

  • Oversee the recruiting, assimilation, training and placement of volunteers, coaches, and/or interns within Youth. On a continual basis, effectively pastor and shepherd those connected to youth through one-on-ones, group events/appreciation, trainings, etc.

  • Collaborate closely with the NextGen team and other ministries to ensure overall youth ministry success within CCC. This includes engagement and partnership with parents and families, pouring into middle school and high school volunteers/leaders serving in ministry environments, and ensuring excellence in trip and events for youth and other experiences youth may be involved in.

  • Ensure an engaging experience for different age groups in different ministry environments, spanning from 6th-12th grade.

  • Contribute to the oversight or collaboration of developing small group leaders to equip them to effectively shepherd and pour into students.

  • Collaborate with other ministry teams to ensure excellence in all components of youth programming (ex: worship and production teams’ people, details, elements, scheduling, etc.) of large group programs. This also applies to youth trips and events.

  • Manage student volunteer teams’ expectations, training, development progress and goals, ensuring effective attraction, retention and engagement. Routinely review volunteer recruiting, development and growth procedures to ensure efficiency, productivity and quality within all volunteer groups.

  • Effectively manage and execute on all administrative tasks related to youth. This includes timely email and written communications, follow-up, new family assimilation, answering and directing calls about Youth program and activities, purchasing and inventory, trip and event coordination processes, legal forms (ex: parent release forms), Youth calendars, student records, background checks, Fellowship One database management, etc.

  • Manage supply purchasing to effectively create and execute youth environments. This includes overseeing and coordinating supplies and setup for small and/or large groups experiences each week.

  • Support NextGen Pastor in CCC community and other outreach initiatives, including creating outreach connection and engagement opportunities for youth and families. This includes partnership and engagement with schools in the community and attending events youth are involved in, outside of church (ex: sports games, performances, etc.)

  • Provide online engagement opportunities for youth (meet students where they are at) that reflect the love of Jesus. This includes maintaining all CCC Youth Social Media accounts and posting regularly.

  • Uphold the NextGen Children & Youth Protection Standards and Expectations.

  • As needed, attend and supporting conferences, camps, and other special events to support Youth Ministries.

Expectations and Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent in education, experience, and training) in youth ministry, communications, business, or a related degree. Strong preference for those who possess seminary degree or haven intent to pursue seminary.

  • Minimum of three years of experience working directly or serving in a high capacity within youth at a church.  

  • Strong understanding of needs, development trends for teens.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Scripture and biblical theology. Ability to clearly and consistently communicate the full Gospel, in both word and deed.

  • Desire to continually learn: look for ways in which to keep on the cutting edge of student ministry, pursuing personal growth and healthy development mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.

  • Ability to lead, manage and train individual volunteers and volunteer teams.

  • Ability to effectively communicate clearly and effectively (written and oral) with diverse audiences and age groups, especially youth and parents.  

  • Experience in programming coordination, implementation, and execution in a creative environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skill with ability to effectively coordinate and schedule.

  • Experience in Microsoft office programs and database management systems. Experience working in Planning Center, Fellowship One, and other church systems a plus.

  • Ability to engage effectively and positively with groups and individuals on a variety of social media platforms (Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.) in a way that reflects Jesus Christ.

Ponte Vedra Beach is an unincorporated seaside community in St. Johns CountyFlorida, United States. Located 18 miles (29 km) southeast of downtown Jacksonville and 26 miles north of St. Augustine, it is part of the Jacksonville Beaches area, and on the island nicknamed San Pablo Island.

The area is known for its resorts including the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, the Lodge and Club, and the Marriott at Sawgrass.
