Position - Worship Pastor

About the Position:
 

The Worship Pastor will work alongside the Senior Pastor to lead the worship ministries of the church.

Primary Responsibilities:​

​​

  1. Plan and prepare for weekly musical worship services, special services (Easter, Christmas, etc.), and events.

  2. Plan and prepare worship for special services throughout the year

  3. Work to expand the Music Ministry with additional instrumentation and voices

  4. Recruit and develop new volunteers to this ministry

  5. Model and lead heartfelt worship in an invitational style – that draws people in, encourages participation, and points people to Jesus.

  6. Plan and lead rehearsals of Praise Team and Choir.

  7. Serve as a member of the pastoral team at South Fulton Baptist Church, demonstrating a commitment to this congregation and its mission.

  8. Provide pastoral care to members of the church as needed.

  9. Oversee all music ministries of the church including children, youth, and adult choirs.

  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Qualities:

  1. Born again follower of Jesus Christ

  2. Meet the biblical qualifications of a Pastor according to First Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

  3. Affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000

  4. Practices daily spiritual disciplines

  5. Discipline of supporting the church through faithful stewardship

  6. Has a teachable spirit and interpersonal skills

  7. Solid vocals and prefer the ability to play an instrument, read, and teach music

  8. Innovative and enthusiastic, with a desire to grow as a Ministry Leader

  9. Experience with Choir and Praise Team

  10. Flexible to the demands of Ministry and affirms the Mission of the church

  11. Competence in cross-generational leadership

South Fulton is 10 miles from the college town of Martin, TN and right on the border of Kentucky.  This rural community is near Reelfoot Lake, Kentucky Lake, and Paris Landing making it a sportsman's paradise.

South Fulton is a family oriented community with great school systems and the Discovery Park of America only 20 minutes away in Union City.
